TroubleshootingFor FARGO’sMacintoshPrinter DriverandBackgrounderIf you are having difficulty using the FARGOdriver, run through the following check list.The FARGOdriver indicatesthat it is printing,but there is noresponse from thePrimeraPro.n Ensure that the Now option is selected in thePrint dialog box when the Backgrounder isnot in use. If the Background/Later option inthe Print dialog box is selected, the drivercreates a copy of the document that isprocessed later by the FARGO Backgrounder.If you are not using the FARGOBackgrounder, the document is stored in theprinting queue and is not processed. If youaccidentally select Background/Later, andwish the document to be printed in theforeground, delete the spool file that wascreated. Spool files are stored in the SpoolFolder, inside the System Folder, and have anicon like this:n As a last resort, save what you are workingon, close all applications, and do a systemrestart. This clears the memory of theMacintosh. If you are using the FARGOBackgrounder, be sure it is opened before youopen any other application. Now, try yourprint job again.An error dialogbox appears whenyou try to printsaying the printeris not ready.n Is the printer plugged into the wall outlet? Is thePower light on? Is the printer selected in theChooser? Is the printer connected to the printerport of the Macintosh or to the AppleTalknetwork? Does the printer have paper and theproper ribbon installed?
