35English3Position the griddle over the hotplate burners resting on thepan support. The griddle can be lightly brushed with cookingoil before use. Light the hotplate burners. Adjust the flameheights to suit.4Preheat the griddle for a maximum of 5 minutes before addingfood. Leaving it longer may cause damage. You can reduce theheat by turning the control knobs towards the lower position(marked with the small flame symbol).5Always leave space around the griddle for the gases to escape.Never fit two griddles side by side. Large pans should also bespaced well apart. The maximum pan base diameter is 250mm.Use the following heat settings as a guide for griddlecooking.High/medium:Drop scones, Bacon, Chops, Steak, Burgers.Medium/low:Potato cakes, Eggs, Fish cakes.Experience will soon familiarise you with the correct settingto use for cooking.The griddle will get very hot in use - allow plenty of time forit to cool before you pick it up.Use Only Dry Oven GlovesMoist or damp gloves on hot surfaces may result in burnsfrom steam. Never let oven gloves touch hot heatingelements.Do not use a towel or other bulky cloth in place of a glove.They might catch fire if they touch a hot surface.Never operate the cooker with wet hands.Clean after use with soapy water using a soft cloth, allowthe griddle to cool before cleaning.The GrillCaution: Accessible parts may be hot whenthe grill is in use. Young children shouldbe kept away.Before using the grill for the first time, make sure thatall packing materials have been removed and then todispel manufacturing odours, turn on the grill and runfor 30 minutes with the grill pan in position, pushedfully back, and the grill door open.Make sure the room is well ventilated to the outside air,by opening windows or turning on a cooker hood forexample. We recommend that people with respiratoryor allergy problems should vacate the area for this briefperiod.Using the grillOpen the grill door and pull the grill pan carriage forwardusing the handle.After placing your food on the grill grid, slide the grill carriageinto the grill chamber. Make sure it is pushed right in.The grill has two elements that allow either the whole area ofthe pan to be heated or just the right hand half.To heat the whole grill, turn the knob clockwise.To heat the right hand half turn it anticlockwise.The neon indicator light by the grill control will come on.For best results preheat for 2 minutes with the grill pan inposition. After placing your food on the grill pan grid, slide inthe grill carriage. Adjust the heat to suit by turning the knob.Make sure the grill carriage is pushed right in.Never close the grill door when the grill is on.
