Before self-cleaning the oven, remove anybroiler pan, broiler grid, all cookware andany aluminum foil. Oven shelves should be removed from theoven before beginning the self-clean cycle. Clean only parts listed in this Owner’sManual. Do not clean the door gasket. The doorgasket is essential for a good seal. Careshould be taken not to rub, damage ormove the gasket. If the self-cleaning mode malfunctions,turn the oven off and disconnect the powersupply. Have it serviced by a qualifiedtechnician. Do not use oven cleaners. No commercialoven cleaner or oven liner of any kindshould be used in or around any part ofthe oven. Residue from oven cleaners willdamage the inside of the oven when theself-clean cycle is used.SELF-CLEANING THE OVENCOOK MEAT AND POULTRY THOROUGHLY…Cook meat and poultry thoroughly—meat to at least an INTERNAL temperature of 160°F and poultry toat least an INTERNAL temperature of 180°F. Cooking to these temperatures usually protects againstfoodborne illness. The purpose of the warming draweris to hold hot cooked foods at servingtemperature. Always start with hot food;cold food cannot be heated or cooked inthe warming drawer. Do not use the drawer to dry newspapers.If overheated, they can catch on fire. Do not leave paper products, plastics,canned food, or combustible materials inthe drawer. Never leave jars or cans of fat drippings inor near your drawer. Do not warm food in the drawer for morethan two hours. Do not touch the heating element or theinterior surface of the drawer. Thesesurfaces may be hot enough to burn.REMEMBER: The inside surface of thedrawer may be hot when the draweris opened. Use care when opening the drawer. Openthe drawer a crack and let hot air or steamescape before removing or replacing food.Hot air or steam which escapes can causeburns to hands, face and/or eyes. Do not use aluminum foil to line thedrawer. Foil is an excellent heat insulatorand will trap heat beneath it.
