If the knob stays atLITE, it will continue to click.When one burner is turned to LITE, allthe burners spark. Do not attempt todisassemble or clean around any burnerwhile another burner is on. An electricshock may result, which could cause youto knock over hot cookware.Push the control knob in and turn itto the LITE position.How to Select Flame SizeFor safe handling of cookware, never let the flamesextend up the sides of the cookware.Watch the flame, not the knob, as youreduce heat. The flame size on a gasburner should match the cookwareyou are using.Any flame larger than the bottom of thecookware is wasted and only serves to heatthe handle.In Case of Power FailureIn case of a power failure, you can lightthe gas surface burners on your rangewith a match. Hold a lit match to theburner, then push in and turn the controlknob to the LITE position. Use extremecaution when lighting burners this way.Surface burners in use when an electricalpower failure occurs will continue tooperate normally.NOTE: If range lockout is in use at the time of apower failure, the surface burners cannot be lit.Before Lighting a Gas Burner Make sure all grates on the range are inplace before using any burner. If your range has the Range Lockoutfeature, make sure it is disabled beforeattempting to light the surface burners.After Lighting a Gas Burner Do not operate the burner for anextended period of time withoutcookware on the grate. The finish onthe grate may chip without cookwareto absorb the heat. Be sure the burners and grates arecool before you place your hand,a pot holder, cleaning cloths orother materials on them.Sealed Gas BurnersThe smaller burner (right rear position)will give the best simmer results fordelicate foods, such as sauces or foodswhich need to cook over low heat for along time. It can be turned down to a verylow setting.The largest burners are higher poweredthan the others and will bring liquids toa boil quicker.Using the gas surface burners.
