During and after use, do nottouch, or let clothing or other flammable materialscontact the surface units, areas nearby the surfaceunits or any interior area of the oven; allowsufficient time for cooling, first.Potentially hot surfaces include the cooktop andareas facing the cooktop, the oven vent openingand surfaces near the opening, crevices around theoven door, the edges of the door window andmetal trim parts above the door.Remember: The inside surface of the oven maybe hot when the door is opened.l When cooking pork, follow the directionsexactly and always cook the meat to an internaltemperature of at least 170”F. This assures that, inthe remote possibility that trichina may be presentin the meat, it will be killed and the meat will besafe to eat.Ovenl Stand away from the range when openingthe oven door, Hot air or steam which escapescan cause burns to hands, face ador eyes.l Do not heat unopened food containers.Pressure could build up and the containercould burst, causing an injury.l Keep the oven vent duct unobstructed.l Keep the oven free from grease buildup.l Place the oven shelf in the desired positionwhile the oven is cool. If the shelves must behandled when hot, do not let pot holder contactthe heating elements.l Pulling out the shelf to the shelf stop is aconvenience in lifting heavy foods. It is also aprecaution against burns from touching the hotsurfaces of the door or oven walls.l When using cooking or roasting bags in theoven, follow the manufacturer’s directions.l Do not use your oven to dry newspapers.If overheated, they can catch on fire.. Do not use oven for a storage area.Items stored in an oven can ignite.l Do not leave paper products, cooking utensilsor food in the oven when not in use.l After broiling, always take the broiler pan out ofthe range and clean it. Leftover grease in the broilerpan can catch on fire the next time you use the pan. —l Never leave jars or cans of fat drippings onor near your range.Self-Cleaning Ovenl Do not clean the door gasket. The door gasket isessential for a good seal. Care should be taken notto rub, damage or move the gasket.Q Do not use oven cleaners. No commercial ovencleaner or oven liner protective coating of any kindshould be used in or around any part of the oven.Residue from oven cleaners will damage the insideof the oven when the self-clean cycle is used.l Clean only parts listed in this Use andCare Guide.l Before self-cleaning the oven, remove thebroiler pan, rack and other cookware.l Do not use aluminum foil to line the ovenbottom or the cooktop, except as suggestedin this guide. Improper installation of aluminumfoil may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.l Be sure to wipe up excess spillage beforestarting the self-cleaning operation.l If the self-cleaning mode malfunctions, turn theoven off and disconnect the power supply.
