Do not use any sharp itemsto remove the film. Remove all of the film beforeusing the appliance for the first time. To assure nodamage is done to the finish of the product, thesafest way to remove the adhesive from packagingtape on new appliances is an application of ahousehold liquid dishwashing detergent. Apply witha soft cloth and allow to soak.NOTE;The adhesive must be removed from allparts. It cannot be removed if it is baked on.Oven racks All oven racks may be cleaned by hand with anabrasive cleaner or steel wool. After cleaning,rinse the racks with clean water and dry with aclean cloth. Gray porcelain-coated oven racks(including the offset rack) may remain in theoven during the self-cleaning cycle withoutbeing damaged. The nickel-plated oven racks(including the offset rack) may remain in theoven during the self-cleaning cycle, but theywill lose their luster and become hard to slide.It will be necessary to grease all oven rack sideedges with a light coating of vegetable oil aftercleaning them by hand or in the oven. Remove the grid from the pan. Carefullypour out the grease from the pan into a propercontainer.Wash and rinse the broiler pan and grid in hotwater with a soap-filled or plastic scouring pad.If food has burned on, sprinkle the grid withdetergent while hot and cover with wet papertowels or a dish cloth. Soaking the pan willremove burned-on foods.Both the broiler pan and grid may be cleanedwith a commercial oven cleaner.Both the broiler pan and grid can also be cleanedin a dishwasher.Do not clean the broiler pan or grid in a self-cleaning oven.Do not store a soiled broiler pan and gridanywhere in the oven.35
