– 37 –Water ValveWARNING: The water valve is NOT grounded andmay present a risk of electric shock during servicing.Disconnect electric power prior to servicing. The water valve is front serviceable and is locatedon the right side of the rear panel, at the bottom. The water valve supplies water to the steamgenerator on demand from the timer unit. TheBitron type 319 water valve has a flow rate of 1/3gallon per minute, operates on 120V, and has a coilresistance of 1K Ω.To remove the water valve:Caution: To avoid marring the control panel, placethe panel face down on a protective surface.Remove the control and top panels. (See1. ControlPanel and Top Panel. )Remove the drive belt and drum. (See2. Drive Beltand Drum. )Remove 2 screws and pull the water hose3.through the rear panel.4. Unscrew the water hose and disconnect thesteam generator hose from the valve.Note: To test for continuity, an ohm meter shouldread approximately 15Ω between the red andbrown female connectors.Steam Interlock RelayThe steam interlock relay is mounted on the left sideof the support bracket and has a coil resistance of1.5K Ω.To remove the steam interlock relay:Caution: To avoid marring the control panel, placethe panel face down on a protective surface.Remove the control and top panels. (See1. ControlPanel and Top Panel. )Note the position of the vapor shields, then2.remove the left side Phillips-head screw andplace the power board vapor shield over theright side of the cabinet.Mark and disconnect the wiring from the relay.3.Remove the Phillips-head screw that attaches4.the front of the steam generator relay to thesupport bracket.
