13Operating the applianceCooking compartmentThe cooking compartment has five shelf positions. Theshelf positions are counted from the bottom up.Caution!– Do not place anything on the cookingcompartment floor. Do not cover it with aluminiumfoil. A build-up of heat could damage theappliance.– Do not slide any accessories between the shelfpositions, or they may tip.Inserting accessoriesThe accessories are equipped with a locking function.The locking function prevents the accessories fromtilting when they are pulled out. The accessories mustbe inserted into the cooking compartment correctlyfor the tilt protection to work properly.When inserting the wire rack, check▯ that the lug (a) is pointing downwards▯ that the safety bar on the wire rack is at the backand facing upwards.Setting the heating function andtemperatureYou can operate both ovens simultaneously withdifferent settings.Exception: When the Pyrolytic mode (Self-cleaningcycle) is being used in one oven, the other ovencannot be operated.1 Select the desired type of heating using thefunction selector.Left function selector: Main ovenRight function selector: Top ovenThe selected type of heating and the defaulttemperature are shown in the display.For example: Main oven, Hot air, 170 °C.2 Turn the rotary selector to set the desiredtemperature.The “ heat-up symbol appears in the display. Thebars continuously display the heating status. Whenthe set temperature has been reached, a signalsounds and the “ heat-up symbol goes out.Note: If the temperature setting is lower than 70 °C,the cooking compartment light remains switched off.If both ovens are switched on, the settings for bothovens appear in the display. Using Q or R, you canselect the corresponding oven display for a fewseconds; using P, you can return to the display forboth ovens.Switching off:Turn the function selector to 0.
