4WARRANTYThis warranty covers defects in material andworkmanship under normal use providing that:a) the equipment has not been accidentally orintentionally damaged, altered or misused.b) the equipment is properly installed, adjusted,operated and maintained in accordance withnational and local codes and in accordance withthe installation instructions provided with thisproduct.c) the warranty serial number affixed to the applianceby us has not been defaced, obliterated orremoved.d) an acceptable report for any claim under thiswarranty is supplied to us.The equipment warranty coverage remains in force forone (1) year (parts and labor) from the date theequipment is put into operation and two (2) years(parts only) for the microprocessor controller, motorspeed controller and upper platen (aluminum castingand shroud).The Garland Group agrees to repair or replace, at it'soption, any part that proves to be defective in materialor workmanship at no charge for the part or normallabor.We assume no responsibility for installation,adjustments, diagnosis, or normal maintenance suchas: lubrication of springs or valves. We excludefailures caused by erratic voltage or gas supplies. Weassume no responsibility for travel costs beyond 100miles round trip, travel other than overland, andovertime costs of repair. We exclude broken glass,paint and porcelain finish, surface rust, gasketmaterial, ceramic material, light bulbs and fuses fromnormal coverage. We exclude damage or dysfunctioncaused by fire, flood, and like "Acts of God" that arebeyond the control of The Garland Group.The Garland Group’s liability on a claim of warrantyshall not exceed the price of the material and/orservice, which caused the claim. This warranty islimited and is in lieu of all other warranties, expressedor implied. The Garland Group, our employees, or ouragents shall not be held liable for any claims ofpersonal injury or consequential damage or loss. Thiswarranty gives you specific legal rights, and you mayhave other rights which vary from state to state.INTRODUCTIONThe Garland clamshell grill, manufactured exclusivelyfor McDonald's, provides a method for efficient two-sided cooking, while accommodating a variety ofproducts. The unit will also serve as a flat grill, andmeets all of McDonald's standards for safety,efficiency, and cleanliness.SHIPPING DAMAGE CLAIM PROCEDUREPlease note that the Garland equipment was carefullyinspected and packed by skilled personnel beforeleaving the factory. The transportation companyassumes full responsibility for safe delivery uponacceptance of the equipment.What to do if the equipment arrives damaged:1. File a claim immediately regardless of the extentof damage.2. Be sure to note, "visible loss or damage," on thefreight bill or express receipt and have the personmaking the delivery sign it.3. Concealed loss or damage: if damage isunnoticed until the equipment is unpacked, notifythe freight company immediately, (within 15 days),and file a concealed damage claim.SAFETYAlways follow these safety precautions when operatingthe clamshell grill.This grill must only be operated by persons who havebeen given adequate training.CAUTION: THIS EQUIPMENT MUST ONLY BEOPERATED UNDER AN APPROVEDHOOD SYSTEM.DO NOT OPERATE THE GRILL UNLESS IT HASBEEN COMMISSIONED (START-UP) BYA FACTORY AUTHORIZED SERVICECENTER.DO NOT operate the grill without reading thisoperation manual.DO NOT operate the clamshell grill unless it has beenproperly installed and grounded.DO NOT operate the clamshell grill unless all serviceand access panels are in place and fastenedproperly.The Garland clamshell grill is a semi-automaticcooking appliance. The upper platen is loweredAutomatically, following the manual, two-handedinitiation of the cooking cycle, and the upper platen israised automatically upon completion of the cookingcycle.
