Astro Dog Tracking System Owner’s Manual SettInGSTo calibrate the Altimeter:Select Altimeter to display the Altimeter Calibrationpage. Follow the instructions provided by thealtimeter setup wizard.Altimeter SetupThe Altimeter Setup page allows you to setup thealtimeter to self-calibrate each time you turn on the unit,to function as a barometer, or to manually calibrate whenyou have accurate elevation or pressure data.To set up the altimeter:1. On the Settings Menu, select Altimeter.2. Select the Auto Calibration field > ENTER to selectfrom On or Off. When On, elevation is corrected bythe GPS receiver.3. Select the Barometer Mode field > to selectVariable Elevation (used when moving) or FixedElevation (used when stationary, allowing thealtimeter to function as a standard barometer). Tripdata is not recorded when in Fixed Elevation mode.To manually calibrate the altimeter:1. Select the Calibrate Altimeter button >. Calibratethe altimeter using one of three methods:Enter the correct elevation: this requires areliable source for determining the elevation foryour current location.Enter the correct pressure: this requires areliable source to determine the accuratebarometric pressure at your current location.Allow the GPS Receiver to determine theelevation.2. When finished, a “Completed” or “Failed“ messageappears.•••
