M ARINECompass PageDuring active navigation, the Compass Page guides you to yourdestination with data fields and a graphic compass screen with abearing pointer.Compass Page in Marine ModeRotatingcompass ringBug indicatorCompass arrow Data fieldsThe middle of the page features a rotating compass ring that showsyour course over ground (track) while you are moving. Your presentcourse over ground is indicated at the top of the compass ring. Thedirection of the destination (bearing) relative to the course overground is indicated by an arrow in the middle of the compass ringand a course to steer “bug” on the outside of the compass ring.The compass ring and bearing indicators work independently toshow the direction of your movement and the direction to yourdestination. If the arrow points up, you are going directly to thewaypoint. If the arrow points any direction other than up, turntoward the arrow until it points up, then continue in that direction.NOTE: You must be moving for the compass to accuratelyupdate and show your heading.The right side of the Compass Pages features user-selectable datafields that show additional information during active navigation.For definitions of data field settings, refer to page 174 of the“Appendix.”Compass Page OptionsThe options menu on the Compass Page allows you to customize theCompass Page to your preferences. Like the Map Page, the CompassPage features user-selectable data fields on the right side of thescreen. When the Compass Page is open, press MENU to open theoptions menu.Show Course Pointer/Show Compass—toggles between showingthe Course Pointer, which shows how far off you are from yourcourse and how to get back on course, or showing the compassarrow.
