9Informational Picture - OverviewThe Informational Picture on the bottom half ofscreen features Garmin’s Mr. Mark Waypoint to show cur-rent GPS & radio status and radio actions. As you operatethe unit, the graphics will change depending on whatactions you are taking or the unit settings.Four satellites are shown on at the top of the picturealong with descriptive text to indicate GPS receptionstatus. As the unit collects satellite information, the satel-lite symbols will flash alternately until all four are steadyindicating a 3D position fix. The more satellites that aresteady, the better your position fix.As radio signals come in, signal wave symbols willdisplay to the left of Mark Waypoint. Fragmented (orbroken) signal symbols are shown to indicate activity onthat channel. Audio remains muted because the incomingsignal does not match the squelch code your unit is set to.The Mark Waypoint figure will display several dif-ferent icons, depending on what you are doing. A radioin Mark’s hand indicates the radio is ready to use. A flagin his other hand means the unit is ready to transmit itsposition or be manually polled (GPS must be On to usethis feature.) As you transmit, you will see radio wavesaround Mark’s radio. When your peer-to-peer transmis-sion is sent, Mark will raise the flag in his hand.
