40ReferenceGPS InformationPage OptionsGPS Information Page OptionsTo display the GPS Information page options, press MENU (with the GPS Information page dis-played). The following options are available: Track Up/North Up, New Elevation and New Location.Track Up/North Up – Changes the sky view display from ‘North Up’ orientation to align to currentdirection of travel (ground track). If ‘Track Up’ is selected, ‘North Up’ will appear as an option instead.To change the sky view orientation:1. Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to highlight ‘Track Up’ (or ‘North Up’) and press ENTER.New Location – Forces the StreetPilot III to search for any available satellite to determine its position.This option is useful if you’ve relocated a long distance (greater than 500 miles) away from the lastlocation where the StreetPilot III was used. In such instances, without initialization, the StreetPilot IIImay be looking for the wrong group of satellites.To select a new location:1. Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to highlight ‘New Location’ and press ENTER. A window appears withtwo options (‘Automatic’ and ‘Use Map’).2. Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to select either ‘Automatic’ or ‘Use Map’ and press ENTERNew Elevation – Allows you to designate your approximate elevation, when the StreetPilot III isacquiring satellites or navigating within a two-dimensional position. By default, 2D navigation willattempt to use the last known elevation. If the elevation shown is off by several hundred feet (ormore), manually entering your approximate elevation will enable the receiver to more accurately deter-mine a position fix.To enter an elevation:1. Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to highlight ‘New Elevation’ and press ENTER.2. Enter your approximate elevation using the ROCKER KEYPAD and press ENTER.Selecting ‘North Up’ will display the sky view withNorth at the top.Selecting ‘Track Up’ will automatically rotate the skyview to keep your current direction of travel at the topof the display.
