3IntroductionFCC ComplianceFCC ComplianceThe StreetPilot III complies with Part 15 of the FCC interference limits for Class B digital devicesFOR HOME OR OFFICE USE. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection againstharmful interference in a residential installation, and are more stringent than “outdoor” requirements.Operation of this device is subject to the following conditions: (1) This device may not causeharmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interferencethat may cause undesired operation.This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency (RF) energy and, if not installedand used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If thisdevice does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined byturning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one ormore of the following measures:• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver isconnected.• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.The StreetPilot III does not contain any user-serviceable parts. Repairs should only be made by anauthorized Garmin service center. Unauthorized repairs or modifications could result in permanentdamage to the equipment, and void your warranty and your authority to operate this device under Part15 regulations.
