Troubleshooting 8-7Modem ProblemsThe modem does not work. Make sure that the modem driver is correctly installed. Make sure that the telephone line is properly connected. Make sure that the COM port in the communication software is correctlyset. Turn off power management.Power Management ProblemsThe computer does not enter Sleep or Hibernation modeautomatically. If you have a connection to another computer, the computer does notenter Sleep or Hibernation mode if the connection is actively in use. Make sure that the Sleep or Hibernation time-out is enabled.The computer does not enter Sleep or Hibernation modeimmediately. If the computer is performing an operation, it normally waits for theoperation to finish.The computer does not resume from Sleep or Hibernation mode. The computer automatically enters Sleep or Hibernation mode when thebattery pack is empty. Do any one of the following:− Connect the AC adapter to the computer.− Replace the empty battery pack with a fully charged one.The computer does not enter Hibernation mode with the Fn+F12 hotkeys. Make sure that the Hibernation function is specified for the sleepbutton.
