4-2Priority Mapping TablesThe router provides various types of priority mapping tables, or rather, priority mappings. By looking upa priority mapping table, the router decides which priority value is to assign to a packet for subsequentpacket processing. The default priority mapping tables (as shown in Appendix B Default Priority Mapping Tables) areavailable for priority mapping. Generally, they are sufficient for priority mapping. If a default prioritymapping table cannot meet your requirements, you can modify the priority mapping table as required.Priority Mapping Configuration TasksYou can configure priority mapping in two approaches:z Configuring priority trust mode. In this approach, you can configure a port to look up the prioritymapping tables based on a certain priority such as 802.1p carried in incoming packets. If no packetpriority is trusted, the port priority of the incoming port is used.z Changing port priority. By default, all ports are assigned the port priority of zero. By changing theport priority of a port, you can change the priority of the incoming packets on the port. You are recommended to plan QoS throughout the network before making QoS configuration.Complete the following task to configure priority mapping:Task RemarksConfiguring a Priority Mapping Table OptionalConfiguring an Interface to Trust Packet Priority for Priority Mapping OptionalChanging the Port Priority of an Interface OptionalConfiguring Priority MappingConfiguring a Priority Mapping TableThe router provides various types of priority mapping table, as listed below.z dot1p-dp: 802.1p-to-drop priority mapping table.z dot1p-exp: 802.1p-to-EXP priority mapping table.z dot1p-lp: 802.1p-to-local priority mapping table.z dscp-dot1p: DSCP-to-802.1p priority mapping table, which applies to only IP packets.z dscp-dp: DSCP-to-drop priority mapping table, which applies to only IP packets.z dscp-dscp: DSCP-to-DSCP priority mapping table, which applies to only IP packets.z exp-dot1p: EXP-to-802.1p priority mapping table.z exp-dp: EXP-to-drop priority mapping table.Follow these steps to configure a priority mapping table:To do… Use the command… RemarksEnter system view system-view —
