2020/4820/4820 i User’s Guide 8 - 18 Imaging CommandsThe image scanner can be used as a digital camera for capturing, manipulating, and transferring images.Imaging Commands with their modifiers send imaging commands to the imagescanner on a single-use basis, and take effect for the next subsequent imagecapture. Once that capture is complete, the image scanner reverts to its imagingdefault settings. If you wish to change a default setting, you must use the serialdefault command (see Imaging Default Commands on page 12-21). When theserial default command is used, that selection becomes the new default settingfor the image scanner.Image Snap - IMGSNPAn image is taken whenever the trigger of the image scanner is pressed, or whenthe Image Snap (IMGSNP) command is processed. Image Snap is thecommand processor for image capture, or taking a picture. The image snap command has many different modifiers that can be used tochange the look of the image in memory. Modifiers always begin with numbersand end with a letter (case insensitive). Any number of modifiers may beappended to the IMGSNP command. For example, you can use the followingcommand to snap an image, increase the gain, and have the beeper sound oncethe snap is complete:IMGSNP2G1BIMGSNP ModifiersP - Imaging Style: Sets the Image Snap style.0P Decoding Style. This is similar to the current format for decoding, however, this processing allows a few frames to be taken until theexposure parameters are met. Then the last frame is available forfurther use.1P Photo Style(default). This attempts to mimic a simple digitalcamera, and results in a visually optimized image.2P Manual Style. This is an advanced style, and should not normallybe used. It allows you the most freedom to set up the imagescanner, and has no auto-exposure.B - Beeper: Causes a beep to sound after an image is snapped.0B No beep(default)1B Sounds a beep when the image is captured, notifying the user thatthe image scanner can be moved.E - Exposure: This allows you to set the exposure time. Units are 127microseconds. Exposure is used in Manual Style only.(Default = 7874)nE Range: 1 - 7874
