SETUP AND CONNECTIONS 13Setup and ConnectionsImportant Notes on SCART and RGBformat: Your DVD 30 is equipped with a SCART con-nector for direct connection to the TV. The SCART connector provides the videosignal as well as audio (stereo L/R) signals. The SCART connector for the TV provides thecomposite video signal or the direct RGB sig-nal, delivering the best video performancepossible, selectable in the Setup menu. Toview RGB video on your TV, the RGB compati-ble SCART connector on the TV must be usedand the DVD 30´s TV SCART connector mustbe set to ”RGB” (see page 17).Note that with RGB video the color intensitycannot be adjusted with most TVs. When the RGB video signal is used, DVD´srecorded with the NTSC format (with regionalcode 0 or 2) can be viewed even on non-NTSC compatible TVs.Component Video ConnectionIf the video display has component video inputs,connect the Component Video Outputs on theDVD 30 to the corresponding input jacks on yourtelevision. If you are using a progressive scantelevision or projector, you must also change theScan Type in the DVD player's Video Set-UpMenu from ”Interlaced” to ”Progressive.” Seepage 17.Important note on DVD-Audio and SCART:The full DVD-Audio output is only available onthe 6 Ch Direct Output. If the player is connect-ed to a TV or monitor only using a SCART con-nection (and not to a 6 Ch Direct Input on anA/V Receiver), only the Front Left (FL) and FrontRight (FR) will be heard.
