6 FRONT PANEL CONTROLSFront Panel Controls Main Power On/Off: Press this switch toapply power to the DVD player. Once the unithas been turned on with this switch, it may beoperated from either the front panel or remotecontrol. Press the switch again to turn the unitcompletely off.1 Power On/Off (Standby): Press the buttononce to turn the DVD player on, press it again toput the unit in the Standby mode. Note that inorder for this switch to operate, the MainPower Switch must be pressed in so that itis in the ON position.IMPORTANT NOTE: After pressing the MainPower On Switch wait at least 4 secondsto press the Power On button to switch the uniton.2 Eject: Press this button to open or close theDisc Tray.3 Play: Press to initiate playback or to resumeplayback after Pause has been pressed.4 Pause: Press this button to momentarilypause playback. To resume playback, press thebutton again. If a DVD is playing, action willfreeze and a still picture will be displayed whenthe button is pressed.5 Stop: Press this button once to place thedisc in the Resume mode, which means thatplayback will stop, but as long as the tray is notopened or the disc changed, DVD playback willcontinue from the same point on the disc whenthe Play Button is pressed again. Resume willalso work if the unit was turned off. To stop adisc and have play start from the beginning,press the button twice.6 Skip (Previous): Press this button to movebackward through the music tracks on a CD discor the chapters on a DVD disc. Keep the buttonpressed to search backwards at one of the avail-able speeds.7 Skip (Next): Press to move forward throughthe music tracks on a CD or the chapters on aDVD disc. Keep the button pressed to search for-wards at one of the available speeds.8 Dimmer: Press this button to reduce thebrightness of the Information Display by 50% orto turn the display off completely in thefollowing order: FULL BRIGHTNESS ➔ HALFBRIGHTNESS ➔ OFF ➔ FULL BRIGHTNESS.9 TEST: Press this button to bring a test pic-ture to the screen, that enables you to optimallyadjust all important parameters of color videoslike brightness, contrast, color intensity and tint.A Disc Indicators: The green LED in front ofthese indicators light to show that either a DVD-Audio disc is playing or the Progressive ScanVideo Output has been selected.B Headphone Level Control: Turn thiscontrol to adjust the volume level to the head-phones. Note that the use of this control will notchange the analog output levels at the rearpanel audio outputs.C Headphone Jack: Connect standard head-phones to this jack for private listening.
