33Configuring the serverThe following configuration programs are provided with theserver:• Configuration/Setup UtilityThe Configuration/Setup Utility program is part of thebasic input/output system (BIOS) code that comes withthe server. You can use this program to configureserial and parallel port assignments, change interruptrequest (IRQ) settings, change the drive startupsequence, set the date and time, and set passwords.See “Using the Configuration/Setup Utility program” formore information.• SCSISelect UtilityWith the built-in SCSISelect Utility program, you canconfigure the devices attached to the integrated SCSIcontroller. Use this program to change default values,resolve configuration conflicts, and perform a low-levelformat on a SCSI hard disk drive. See “Using theSCSISelect utility program” on page 37 for more infor-mation.• ServerGuide CDsThe ServerGuide CDs include software setup andinstallation tools specifically designed for IBM Netfinityservers. You can use these CDs during the initialinstallation of the server to configure the server hard-ware and simplify the network operating system instal-lation. The ServerGuide CDs also contain a collectionof application programs, which you can install after theserver is up and running.• ServeRAID programsThe ServeRAID programs come with the optional Serv-eRAID adapters and with server models that have aServeRAID adapter preinstalled. If a ServeRAIDadapter has been installed in the server, you must usethe ServeRAID configuration program to define andconfigure the disk-array subsystem before you installthe operating system.Using the Configuration/Setup UtilityprogramThis section provides the instructions needed to start theConfiguration/Setup Utility program and descriptions of themenu choices available.Starting the Configuration/Setup UtilityprogramTo start the Configuration/Setup Utility program:1. Turn on the server and watch the monitor screen.2. When the message Press F1 for Configura-tion/Setup appears, press F1.3. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
