There are release levers on the Ethernet connectors. To disconnect a cable fromone of these connectors, push down on the lever to release the cable.Ethernet cableEthernet cablerelease leverTo attach non-USB devices to the server, use the cables that come with the devicesand connect the cables to the applicable connectors on the server.To attach a USB device to the server, use the cable that comes with the device andconnect the cable to:v One of the two USB connectors on the front of the server (see “Front view” onpage 33), orv One of the four USB connectors on the rear of the server (see “Rear view” onpage 35)Important:v If you want to attach a keyboard or mouse to this server, you must use a USBkeyboard or a USB mouse. For detailed information about the USB keyboard andhow to connect it to the server, see the documentation that comes with the USBkeyboard.v The server supports keyboardless operation. If a USB keyboard is not connectedto the server, when the server is turned on or restarted, error message 301 willappear during POST. No action is required. POST will continue within 1 minute.v If you want to attach a diskette drive to this server, you must use an externalUSB diskette drive.Depending on the optional devices that you installed, after you cable the server, youmight have to run the Configuration/Setup Utility program to update the serverconfiguration.
