Remind buttonYou can use the remind button on the light path diagnostics panel to put thesystem-error LED on the operator information panel into Remind mode. When youpress the remind button, you acknowledge the error but indicate that you will nottake immediate action. The system-error LED flashes while it is in Remind modeand stays in Remind mode until one of the following conditions occurs:v All known errors are corrected.v The server is restarted.v A new error occurs, causing the system-error LED to be lit again.Light path diagnostic LEDsThe following table describes the LEDs on the light path diagnostics panel andsuggested actions to correct the detected problems.v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problemis solved.v See Chapter 3, “Parts listing, System x3800 Type 8866,” on page 107 to determine which components arecustomer replaceable units (CRU) and which components are field replaceable units (FRU).v If an action step is preceded by “(Trained service technician only),” that step must be performed only by atrained service technician.Lit light pathdiagnostics LED withthe system-error orsystem-informationLED also lit Description ActionAll LEDs off (thepower LED is lit).No action necessary.OVERSPEC There is insufficient power to powerthe system. Microprocessor tray4. Remove optional devices.5. Replace the components listed in step 3 one at atime, in the order shown, restarting the server eachtime.PS A power supply or power supplyfiller has failed or has beenremoved; also see “Power-supplyLEDs” on page 58.Note: In a redundant powerconfiguration, the dc power LED onone power supply might be off.1. Reinstall the removed power supply or powersupply filler.2. Check the individual power-supply LEDs to find thefailing power supply or power supply filler.3. Reseat the following components:a.
