Connecting the cablesThis section provides basic information about attaching peripheral devices, such asa keyboard and pointing device, to the server.Cable identifiers are printed on the cables that come with the server and optionaldevices. Use these identifiers to connect the cables to the correct connectors, suchas the identifiers in the following examples:v The signal cable identifier for the CD or DVD in the CD or DVD drive is “ODD”,for optical disk drive.v The signal cable identifier for the drive in the front hard disk drive cage is“HDD1”.v The signal cable identifier for the drive in the rear hard disk drive cage is“HDD2”.It might be easier for you to route cables before you connect the devices to theserver. For the locationof external ports and connectors on the server, see “Server components” on page14.There are release levers on the Ethernet connectors.
