20 C7010/12 0508Replacing the ignition electrodeThe ignition electrode has to be replaced if it has become worn asa combustion in the decomposition vessel.• Open the decompositon vessel as described under „Openingthe decompositon vessel“.• Take hold of the complete cover unit.• Remove the ignition wire.• Unscrew the hexonal nut item 6/11(I) in a counterclockwisedirection using the double open ended spanner SW 5,5 while firm-ly holding the ignition electrode (item 5). Screw the hexagonal nutcompletely off of the ignition electrode and put it a side for laterassembly.• Pull the ignition electrode out of the cover. Make certain thatthe insulating bushing (item 9) are removed with the electrode.Clean both parts if required.A new o-ring (item7) should be used when the new elec-trode is inserted.Information on how to replace the o-ring is provided further on inthis chapter. Make certain that there are no dirt particles in thecover when reassembling the unit. Use a paper towel to clean thesealing surfaces.Installation is performed in the reverse order.• Put the rate insulating bushing item 8 and 13 and the bearingbushing item 9 on to ignition electrode.• Insert the new ignition electrode contained in the set of elec-trodes with deflector (item 2002) into the cover.• The hexagonal nut (item 6/11(I) should only be slightly tighte-ned with the spanner.A leak test should be performed after assembly of the decompo-sition vessel has been completed.• Fill the decomposition vessel with oxygen. Use the C48 oxy-gen station in order do so.• Hold the decomposition vessel with the cover upside down invessel that is completely filled with water. Be careful to onlyimmerse only half of the decomposition vessel at most.6; 116; 116; 11316; 111259138The work described in the following may only be performed byauthorized personnel or IKA.A new leak test is required after any work performed on the fit-tings of the decomposition vessel.Furthermore, reference is made to the regulation for pressurevessels 97/23/EC.Send in the case of service the equipment back in the originalpackaging. Storage packing is nit sufficient for the backdispatch. Use additionally a suitable transportation packing.Replacing the ignition wireThe C 7010 and C 7012 decompo-sition vessels are equipped witha fixed ignition wire. Since theignition wire is subjected toa high degree of materialstress during combustion,it should be replacedafter about visiblewear.• Unscrewthe upper hexa-gonal nut item6(IV) /11(III)on the ignitionelectrode item5or the crucibleholder item 12using a doubleopen endedspanner SW 5,5which is inclu-ded in the deli-very quantityC are and Maint enanc e(IV)(III)(II)(I)☞
