See"Electrical Requirements."It is recommended that all electrical connections be made by alicensed, qualified electrical installer.Make sure you have everything needed for correct installation. It isthe responsibility of the installer to comply with the installationclearances specified in these instructions.IMPORTANT: Observe all governing codes and ordinances. Wheninstalling cooktop, use minimum dimensions given.• To eliminate the risk of burns or fire by reaching over theheated surface units, cabinet storage space located above thesurface units should be avoided. If cabinet storage is to beprovided, the risk can be reduced by installing a range hoodthat projects horizontally a minimum of 5" (12.7 cm) beyondthe bottom of the cabinets.• The cooktop must be a specified cooktop that is approved tobe installed either alone or over an undercounter built-in oven.Check the cooktop base for an approved installation label.Verify approved oven model numbers that can be installedwith your cooktop model number. If you do not find this label,your cooktop may not be approved for use over anundercounter built-in oven. Contact your dealer to confirmthat your cooktop is approved.• Ovens approved for this type of installation will have anapproval label located on the top of the oven. If you do notfind this label, contact your dealer to confirm that your oven isapproved. Refer to oven manufacturer's InstallationInstructions for approval for built-in undercounter use andproper cutout dimensions.do not fasten cooktop to countertop with clamps or sealcooktop to countertop. This will make the cooktop easier toremove if future servicing becomes necessary.Use the countertop opening dimensions that are given withthese Installation Instructions.
