16KAWAI DIGITAL PIANO CE200Advanced Playing2.3 SPLITSELECTING SPLIT SOUNDSThe split function divides the keyboard into two sections—upper andlower—and lets you play each part with a different sound.First press the desired SOUND SELECT button to select the uppersound. Then, while holding down the SPLIT button, press thedesired SOUND SELECT button to select the lower sound. TheLED indicator for the upper sound will be turned on and the LED for thelower sound will start flashing. The display shows the combination ofthe selected sound variation numbers during the SPLIT button is pressed.The number on the left is for lower sound and the number on the right isfor upper sound.CHANGING THE SPLIT POINTThe default split point is set between B2 and C3. This point can be movedto anywhere on the keyboard.Press the desired key on the keyboard while holding down theSPLIT button.The key you pressed becomes the lowermost note for the upper section.Variation 2 forlower and 1 forupper.2.4 F OUR HANDS MODEIt is possible to divide the keyboard into left and right sections at thedefault split point, and to play both sections in the same key range usingthe four hands mode. The key range is lowered by two octaves for theright section, and raised by two octaves for the left section. When fourhands mode is active, the sustain pedal (right pedal) acts as the sustainpedal for the right section, and the soft pedal (left pedal) acts as the sustainpedal for the left section. When four hands mode is active the CE200functions as two pianos, so you can enjoy duet performances or use oneCE200 piano for two students or a teacher and a student.ENTERING FOUR HANDS MODEPress the sustain pedal and the soft pedal while holding down the SPLITbutton. The SPLIT button LED indicator will start blinking and the pianois now in Four Hands Mode.
