AUXILIARY FUNCTIONSBATTERY SAVERBatterySaverbecomesactivewhenthesguelchisclosedandnokeyispressedformorethan 10seconds.Thisfunctionbecomespassivewheneverany keyispressedorthesquelchisopened.Oncethesquelchclosesand10secondspasswithnofurtherkeyentries,BatterySaverbecomesactive again.BatterySaverdoesnotfunction whilescanning.1Press[MENU].2 TurntheENCcontroltoselect"Save"(1).3 Press [SET]totogglebetween"Off"and"On".*Thedefaultis"On".4 Press[MENU]toexit.AUTOMATIC POWER OFF (APO)After 1 hour elapses with no key entries, APO turnsOFF the power; however, 1 minute before the powerturns OFF, the APO indicator begins blinking and anaudio tone sounds. When the power is turned OFF byAPO, the frequency disappears from the Display. If thereceiver squelch opens or any keys are pressed duringthe 1 hour period while APO is ON, the timer resets.When the squelch closes or key entry stops, the 1 hourtimer begins counting again from 0. APO does not turnOFF the power if Tone Alert is ON.1 Press [MENU].2 Turn the ENC control to select "APO" (2).3 Press [SET] to toggle between "Off" and "On".+ The default is "On".4 Press [MENU] to exit.To restore power after APO has activated, switch thedual bander power OFF then ON again using thePWR/VOL control.43
