It allows users toselect each icon by specifying a combination of two ASCIIcodes, for example, ! and /. One is a symbol code, andthe other is a table identification code (either /or \). If youselect “OTHERS”, use the following procedures:1 Access Menu 3C1.2 Select a symbol code, then press [ OK].3 Select a a table identification code.• Overlay Icon SettingFor example, to set the Digipeater icon to the letter “S”,select “Others” under the icon type menu, select “#” under“Symbol”, then select “S” under “Table”.Note:X APRS icon codes (symbols/tables) are sometimes updated. Youcan download up-to-date icon codes from the following website(as of September 2010):http://www.tapr.org/software_library.php?dir=/aprssig/dosstuff/APRSdosFrom this website, click on the aprsXXX.zip file (where XXX is 3alphanumeric characters) to download it. After downloading andextracting the file, a README directory is created, which containsthe SYMBOLS.TXT file (icon codes).X Set an icon that represents your operational status. (For example,setting an Aircraft icon or Balloon icon to a fixed station will causeconfusion when a station receives a beacon.)
