0Selecting A Zone And chAnnelSelect the desired zone using the keys programmed as ZoneUp/ Zone Down. Each zone contains a group of channels.Select the desired channel using the Selector knob (default).Each channel is programmed with settings for transmitting andreceiving.• You can toggle the display between the zone and channel namesand numbers by pressing the key programmed as Display Format,or by accessing the Menu {page 2}.Note: If the default setting for the Selector knob has been changed,use the appropriate keys to select the channel.trAnSmitting1 Select the desired zone and channel.2 Press the key programmed as Monitor or Squelch Off tocheck whether or not the channel is free.• If the channel is busy, wait until it becomes free.3 Press the PTT switch and speak into the microphone.Release the PTT switch to receive.• For best sound quality, hold the transceiver approximately. inches (3 ~ cm) from your mouth.■ Making Group Calls (P25)Channels programmed for P2 operation already have aTalkgroup ID assigned.
