APRS-15PROGRAMMING A PACKET PATHEnter Menu mode and access Menu 612.Select the packet path type from [New-N PARADIGM],[RELAY PARADIGM], [STATE/SECTION/REGION], or[OTHERS].When you press [USE], the “ ” indicator appears on theleft side of the packet path type, showing the current usedinformation.[New-N PARADIGM]:This digipeat type has been used mainly in North America,but is now used worldwide.1 Set the TYPE to [New-N PARADIGM], then press[USE].2 Set WIDE 1-1 to [OFF] or [ON].• Set WIDE 1-1 to [ON] to use the digipeater of the RELAYtype (Fill-in type) with the New-N PARADIGM.• When set to [ON], 1 packet path in addition to WIDE 1-1can be used, as per the TOTAL HOPS setting.3 Select the relay step number for the TOTAL HOPSsetting.• You can confirm the setting contents in PATH IS VIA.[RELAY PARADIGM]:This is one of the digipeat types used in Europe.1 Set the TYPE to [RELAY PARADIGM], then press[USE].2 Set RELAY to [OFF] or [ON].• Set RELAY to [ON] to use the digipeater of the RELAYtype (Fill-in type) with the RELAY PARADIGM.• When set to [ON], 1 packet path in addition to RELAY canbe used, as per the TOTAL HOPS setting.3 Select the relay step number for the TOTAL HOPSsetting.• You can confirm the setting contents in PATH IS VIA.[STATE/SECTION/REGION]:Use this method when the packet is being relayed withinonly a limited area.Packet paths are specified using ABBR (abbreviations).(In America, for example, CA represents California, AZrepresents Arizona, etc.)1 Set the TYPE to [STATE/SECTION/REGION], thenpress [USE].2 Using the ABBR setting, enter an abbreviation of up to5 characters.3 Select the relay step number for the TOTAL HOPSsetting.• You can confirm the setting contents in PATH IS VIA.[OTHERS]:Use this method when the relay path is specified to anindividual.When a character string is not entered, the packet data isnot relayed.1 Set the TYPE to [OTHERS], then press [USE].2 Enter a path.• A Packet path is the digipeat route of the packet data sentfrom My station.For example, if you want your packet to take the [W5DJY-1] > [W4DJY-1] route, enter [W5DJY-1, W4DJY-1],separating each digipeater callsign with a comma.
