This is because most of the semiconductordevices used in this tester are susceptible to damage bystatic discharge.Depending on the magnitude of the charge, devicesubstrates can be punctured of destroyed by contact ormere proximity of a static charge. The result can causedegradation of device performance, early failure, orimmediate destruction. ElectroStatic charges aregenerated in numerous ways, such as simple contact,separation of materials, and normal motions of personsworking with static sensitive devices.When handling or servicing equipment containing staticsensitive devices, adequate precautions must be takento prevent device damage or destruction.Only those who are thoroughly familiar with industryaccepted techniques for handling static sensitivedevices should attempt to service circuitry with thesedevices.
