Front Panel Interface9.1 Front Panel Navigation9.1.1 General description of navigation in the PLMThe majority of PLM functions can be controlled and/or monitored via the front-panel LCD display screenand associated switches and LEDs.The control system has two basic modes: METER MODE and MENU MODE. METER mode has fourpossible views, called HOME VIEW, MODULE VIEW, TEMPERATURE VIEW and INPUT VIEW. Each viewoffers different information about the PLM’s configuration. The four views , shown in figure 9.1 below, canbe scrolled through using the METER button.Home ViewModule ViewTemperature ViewInput ViewFigure 9.1: Meter ModesThe PLM always powers up in METER MODE, HOME VIEW. See section 9.11 for full details of the threeMETER MODE views.MENU MODE is selected by pressing the MENU button. The screen display changes to the “top page” ofthe menu “tree”, which lists the various submenus available. Select the required submenu by pressing thesoft button adjacent to it. In some cases parameter adjustment is presented immediately; in other cases,intermediate submenus are presented first. When parameters are available, adjustment is made using therotary encoder. See section 9.12 for a full description of MENU MODE and the various submenus availabletherein.Warnings about fault conditions or other extreme operating states are given primarily by the tricolor LEDswithin the eight soft function buttons around the screen; a simultaneous textual description is shown on the
