Mitre saws are intended to cut wood orwoodlike products, they cannot be used withabrasive cut-off wheels for cutting ferrousmaterial such as bars, rods, studs, etc.Abrasive dust causes moving parts such as thelower guard to jam. Sparks fromabrasive cutting will burnthe lower guard, the kerf insert andother plastic parts.2. Use clamps to support the workpiecewhenever possible. If supporting theworkpiece by hand, you must always keepyour hand at least 100 mm from either side ofthe saw blade. Do not use this saw to cutpieces that are too small to be securelyclamped or held by hand. If your hand is placedtoo close to the saw blade, there is an increasedrisk of injury fromblade contact.3. The workpiece must be stationary andclamped or held against both the fence and thetable. Do not feed the workpiece into the bladeor cut "freehand" in any way. Unrestrained ormoving workpieces could be thrown at highspeeds, causing injury.4. Never cross your hand over the intended lineof cutting either in front or behind the sawblade.
