23 ENGLISHFUNCTIONALDESCRIPTIONWARNING: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore adjusting or checking the functions on thetool. Failure to switch off and remove the batterycartridge may result in seriouspersonal injury fromaccidental start-up.Installing or removing batterycartridgeCAUTION: Always switch off the tool beforeinstalling or removing of the battery cartridge.CAUTION: Hold the tool and the batterycartridge firmly when installing or removingbattery cartridge. Failure to hold the tool and thebattery cartridge firmly may causethem to slip offyour hands and result indamage to the tool and battery cartridge and apersonal injury.► Fig.5: 1. Red indicator 2. BatterycartridgeTo remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the toolwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Insert it all the way until it locks in placewith a little click. If you can see the red indicator on theupper side of the button, it is not locked completely.CAUTION: Always install the battery cartridgefully until the red indicator cannot be seen. If not, itmay accidentally fallout of the tool,causing injury to you orsomeone around you.CAUTION: Do not install the battery cartridgeforcibly. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, it isnot being inserted correctly.Tool / battery protection systemThe tool is equipped with a tool/battery protectionsystem. This system automatically cuts off power to themotor to extend tool and battery life. The tool willautomatically stop during operation if the tool or batteryis placed under one of the following conditions:Overload protectionWhen the tool is operated in a manner that causes it todraw an abnormally high current, the tool automaticallystops without any indication. In this situation, turn thetool off and stop the application that caused the tool tobecome overloaded. Then turn the tool on to restart.Overheat protectionWhen the tool is overheated, the tool stopsautomatically, and the battery indicator blinks about 60seconds. In this situation, let the tool cool down beforeturning the tool on again.Overdischarge protectionWhen the battery capacity becomes low, the tool stopsautomatically. If the product does not operate evenwhen the switches are operated, remove the batteriesfrom the tool and charge the batteries.Canceling lock by protection systemIf the protection system is activated repeatedly, the toolis locked and the battery indicator blinks.In this case, turn off the switch and remove the causewhich is activating the protection system, and then turnon the switch again. If the tool does not work afterturning on the switch again, remove the batterycartridge and charge it.Indicating the remaining batterycapacity► Fig.6: 1.
