Hex wrenchInstalling or removing saw bladeWARNING: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore installing or removing the blade. Accidentalstart up of the tool may result in serious personal injury.CAUTION: Use only the Makita hex wrenchprovided to install or remove the blade. Failure to doso may result in overtightening or insufficient tighteningof the hex socket bolt. This could cause an injury.To remove the blade, perform the following steps:1. Lock the handle in the raised position by pushingin the stopper pin.► Fig.29: 1. Stopper pin2. Use the hex wrench to loosen the hex socket boltholding the center cover by turning it counterclockwise.Then, raise the blade guard and center cover.► Fig.30: 1. Center cover 2. Hex socket bolt 3. Press the shaft lock to lock the spindle and usethe hex wrench to loosen the hex socket bolt clockwise.Then remove the hex socket bolt of the spindle, outerflange and blade.► Fig.31: 1. Shaft lock 2. Hex socket bolt 3. Outerflange4. If the inner flange is removed, install it on the spin-dle with its blade mounting part facing the blade. Blade mounting partTo install the blade, perform the following steps:1. Mount the blade carefully onto the inner flange.Make sure that the direction of the arrow on the bladematches the direction of the arrow on the blade case.► Fig.33: 1. Saw blade 2. Arrow2. Install the outer flange and hex socket bolt, andthen use the hex wrench to tighten the hex socket bolt(left-handed) of the spindle securely counterclockwisewhile pressing the shaft lock.
