19 ENGLISHThe horizontal vise can be installed on the left side ofthe base.By turning the vise knob counterclockwise, the screwis released and the vise shaft can be moved rapidly inand out. By turning the vise knob clockwise, the screwremains secured. To grip the workpiece, turn the vise knob gently clock-wise until the indicator reaches its topmost position, then fasten securely. If the vise knob is forced in orpulled out while being turned clockwise, the indicatormay stop at an angle. In this case, turn the vise knobback counterclockwise until the screw is released, andthen turn it again gently clockwise. The maximum capacity of the horizontal vise is 120 mmwidth.Holders and holder assemblyOptional accessoryWARNING: Always support a long workpieceso it is level with the top surface of the turn basefor an accurate cut and to prevent dangerous lossof tool control. Proper workpiece support helps toavoid blade pinch and possible kickback which mayresult in serious personal injury. The holders and the holder assembly (optional acces-sory) can be installed on either side as a convenientmeans of supporting workpieces horizontally.Install them on the side of the tool, then tighten thescrews firmly to secure them.► Fig.40: 1. Holder 2. Holder assemblyWhen cutting long workpieces, use the holder-rodassembly (optional accessory). It consists of two holderassemblies and two rods 12.► Fig.41: 1. Holder assembly 2. Rod 12OPERATIONWARNING: Make sure the blade is not con-tacting the workpiece, etc. before the switchis turned on. Turning the tool on with the blade incontact with the workpiece may result in kickback andserious personal injury.WARNING: After a cutting operation, do notraise the blade until it has come to a completestop. The raising of a coasting blade may result inserious personal injury and damage to the workpiece.WARNING: Do not touch the clamp screwswhich secure the slide poles while the saw bladeis rotating. Otherwise the tool may lose control andresult in personal injury.NOTICE: Before use, be sure to release thehandle from the lowered position by pulling thestopper pin.NOTICE: Do not apply excessive pressure on thehandle when cutting. Too much force may result inoverload of the motor and/or decreased cutting effi-ciency. Press down handle with only as much force asnecessary for smooth cutting and without significantdecrease in blade speed.NOTICE: Gently press down the handle to per-form the cut. If the handle is pressed down with forceor if lateral force is applied, the blade may vibrate andleave a mark (saw mark) in the workpiece and theprecision of the cut may be impaired.NOTICE: During a slide cut, gently push thecarriage toward the guide fence without stopping. If the carriage movement stops during the cut, a markmay be left in the workpiece and the precision of thecut may be impaired.Press cutting (cutting smallworkpieces)WARNING: Firmly tighten two clamp screwswhich secure the slide poles clockwise so thatthe carriage will not move during operation.Insufficient tightening of the locking screw may causepossible kickback which may result in serious per-sonal injury.► Fig.42Workpieces up to 52 mm high and 97 mm wide can becut in the following manner.1. Push the carriage toward the guide fence fully andtighten two clamp screws which secure the slide polesclockwise to secure the carriage.2. Secure the workpiece with the proper type of vise.3. Switch on the tool without the blade making anycontact and wait until the blade attains full speed beforelowering.4. Gently lower the handle to the fully lowered posi-tion to cut the workpiece.5. When the cut is completed, switch off the tool andwait until the blade has come to a complete stopbefore returning the blade to its fully elevated position.
