16 ENGLISHSecuring workpieceWARNING: It is extremely important to alwayssecure the workpiece correctly with the propertype of vise. Failure to do so may result in seriouspersonal injury and cause damage to the tool and/orthe workpiece.WARNING: When cutting a workpiece that islonger than the support base of the saw, support theentire length of the material beyond the support baseand at the same height to keep the material level. Properworkpiece support helps to avoid blade pinch and possiblekickback which may result in serious personal injury. Donot rely solely on the vertical vise and/or horizontal vise tosecure the workpiece. Thin material tends to sag. Otherwise the material may move during the cuttingoperation, cause damage to the blade, and be thrown whichmay result in loss of control and serious personal injury.Install the vertical vise on either the left or right side of the guidefence or the holder assembly (optional accessory). If the upper screw contactsthe guide fence, install the upper screw on the oppositeside of vise arm. Make sure that no part of the toolcontacts the vise when lowering the handle fully andpulling or pushing the carriage all the way. If some partcontacts the vise, re-position the vise.Press the workpiece lat against the guide fence and theturn base. Position the workpiece at the desired cuttingposition and secure it irmly by tightening the vise kno b.Horizontal viseOptional accessoryWARNING: Grip the workpiece only when theindicator is at the topmost position. Failure to doso may result in insuficient securing of the workpiece. This may cause the workpiece to be thrown, causedamage to the blade or cause the loss of control, which may result in personal injury.1234Ź 1. By turning the vise knob clockwise, the screwremains secured. To grip the workpiece, turn the vise knob gently clock-wise until the indicator reaches its topmost position, then fasten securely. If the vise knob is forced in orpulled out while being turned clockwise, the indicatormay stop at an angle. In this case, turn the vise knobback counterclockwise until the screw is released, andthen turn it again gently clockwise. The maximum capacity of the horizontal vise is 120 mmwidth.Holders and holder assemblyOptional accessoryWARNING: Always support a long workpieceso it is level with the top surface of the turn basefor an accurate cut and to prevent dangerous lossof tool control. Proper workpiece support helps toavoid blade pinch and possible kickback which mayresult in serious personal injury. The holders and the holder assembly (optional acces-sory) can be installed on either side as a convenient
