5 ENGLISH32. Make sure the shaft lock is released before theswitch is turned on.33. Be sure that the blade does not contact theturn base in the lowest position.34. Hold the handle irmly. Be aware that the sawmoves up or down slightly during start-up andstopping.35. Make sure the blade is not contacting theworkpiece before the switch is turned on.36. Before using the tool on an actual workpiece,let it run for a while. Watch for vibration orwobbling that could indicate poor installationor a poorly balanced blade.37. Wait until the blade attains full speed beforecutting.38. Stop operation immediately if you notice any-thing abnormal.39. Do not attempt to lock the trigger in the onposition.40. Be alert at all times, especially during repeti-tive, monotonous operations. Do not be lulledinto a false sense of security. Blades areextremely unforgiving.41. Always use accessories recommended in thismanual. Use of improper accessories such asabrasive wheels may cause an injury.42. Take care when slotting.43. Some dust created from operation containschemicals known to cause cancer, birthdefects or other reproductive harm. Someexamples of these chemicals are:• lead from lead-based-painted materialand,• arsenic and chromium from chemical-ly-treated lumber.Your risk from these exposures varies,depending on how often you do this typeof work. To reduce your exposure to thesechemicals: work in a well ventilated area andwork with approved safety equipment, such asthose dust masks that are specially designedto ilter out microscopic particles.44. To reduce the emitted noise, always be surethat the blade is sharp and clean.45. Before using battery cartridge, read all instruc-tions and cautionary markings on (1) batterycharger, (2) battery, and (3) product usingbattery.2. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them outwith clear water and seek medical attention rightaway. It may result in loss of your eyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with any con-ductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-tainer with other metal objects such asnails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain.A battery short can cause a large current low, over -heating, possible burns and even a breakdown.6. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge inlocations where the temperature may reach orexceed 50 °C (122 °F).7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even ifit is severely damaged or is completely wornout. The battery cartridge can explode in a ire.8. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.9. Do not use a damaged battery.10. The contained lithium-ion batteries are subjectto the Dangerous Goods Legislation require-ments.For commercial transports e.g. by third parties,forwarding agents, special requirement on pack-aging and labeling must be observed.For preparation of the item being shipped, consult-ing an expert for hazardous material is required.Please also observe possibly more detailednational regulations.Tape or mask off open contacts and pack up thebattery in such a manner that it cannot movearound in the packaging.11. Follow your local regulations relating to dis-posal of battery.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.CAUTION: Only use genuine Makita batteries. Useof non-genuine Makita batteries, or batteries that have beenaltered, may result in the battery bursting causing ires,personal injury and damage. It will also void the Makitawarranty for the Makita tool and charger.Tips for maintaining maximumbattery life1. Charge the battery cartridge before completelydischarged. Always stop tool operation andcharge the battery cartridge when you noticeless tool power.2. Never recharge a fully charged battery car-tridge. Overcharging shortens the batteryservice life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with room tem-perature at 10 °C - 40 °C (50 °F - 104 °F). Leta hot battery cartridge cool down beforecharging it.4. Charge the battery cartridge if you do not useit for a long period (more than six months). |
