22 ENGLISHInstalling the cutting toolNOTE: The type of the cutting tool(s) supplied asthe standard accessory varies depending on thecountries. The cutting tool is not included in somecountries.NOTE: Turn the tool upside down so that you canreplace the cutting tool easily.Cutter bladeCAUTION: When handling a cutter blade,always wear gloves and put the blade cover onthe blade.CAUTION: The cutter blade must be well pol-ished, and free of cracks or breakage. If the cutterblade hits a stone during operation, stop the tool andcheck the cutter blade immediately.CAUTION: Always use the cutter bladewith the diameter described in the section forspecifications.► Fig.20: 1. Mount the cutter blade onto the guard so that thearrows on the cutter blade and protector are pointing inthe same direction.► Fig.21: 1. Arrow2. Put the clamp washer and cup onto the cutterblade.3. While holding down the spindle lock button,tighten the nut securely by the box wrench.► Fig.22: 1. Spindle lock button 2. Box wrench3. Loosen 4. TightenTo remove the cutting blade, loosen the nut while hold-ing down the spindle lock button.Nylon cutting headNOTICE: Be sure to use genuine Makita nyloncutting head.While holding down the spindle lock button, placethe nylon cutting head onto the spindle and tighten itsecurely by hand.► Fig.23: 1. TightenTo remove the nylon cutting head, loosen the nyloncutting head while holding down the spindle lock button.Plastic bladeNOTICE: Be sure to use genuine Makita plasticblade.While holding down the spindle lock button, place theplastic blade onto the spindle and tighten it securely byhand.► Fig.24: 1. TightenTo remove the plastic blade, loosen the plastic bladewhile holding down the spindle lock button.NOTE: You can use the supplied hex wrench toinstall/remove the cutting tool.
