SpindleWARNING: If the ring is needed to mount theblade onto the spindle, always be sure that thecorrect ring for the blade's arbor hole you intendto use is installed between the inner and the outerflanges. Use of the incorrect arbor hole ring mayresult in the improper mounting of the blade causingblade movement and severe vibration resulting inpossible loss of control during operation and in seri-ous personal injury.For tool with the inner flange forother than 20 mm or 15.88 mm hole-diameter saw bladeCountry specificThe inner flange has a certain diameter of a blademounting part on one side of it and a different diameterof blade mounting part on the other side. Choose acorrect side on which blade mounting part fits into thesaw blade hole perfectly.► Fig.32: 1. Outer flange 2. Saw blade 3. Inner flange4. Hex socket bolt (left-handed) 5. Spindle6. Blade mounting partCAUTION: Make sure that the blade mountingpart “a” on the inner flange that is positionedoutside fits into the saw blade hole “a” perfectly.Mounting the blade on the wrong side can result inthe dangerous vibration.Returning the blade guardReturn the blade guard and center cover to its originalposition. Then tighten the hex socket bolt clockwise tosecure the center cover. Release the handle from theraised position by pulling the stopper pin. Lower thehandle to make sure that the blade guard moves prop-erly. Make sure shaft lock has released spindle beforemaking cut.Connecting a vacuum cleanerWhen you wish to perform clean cutting operation,connect a Makita vacuum cleaner.► Fig.33Dust bag (optional accessory)► Fig.34: 1. Dust bag 2. Dust nozzle 3. FastenerThe use of the dust bag makes cutting operations cleanand dust collection easy. To attach the dust bag, fit itonto the dust nozzle.When the dust bag is about half full, remove the dustbag from the tool and pull the fastener out. Emptythe dust bag of its contents, tapping it lightly so as toremove particles adhering to the insides which mighthamper further collection.Dust box (Optional accessory)► Fig.35: 1. Dust box 2. Cover 3. ButtonInsert the dust box into the dust nozzle.Empty the dust box at the earliest possible.To empty the dust box, open the cover by pushing thebutton and throw away sawdust. Return the cover tothe original position and it locks. Dust box can easilybe removed by pulling out while turning it near the dustnozzle on the tool.CAUTION:• Empty the dust box before collected sawdustlevel reaches the cylinder part.► Fig.36: 1. Dust boxSecuring workpieceWARNING:• It is extremely important to always secure theworkpiece properly and tightly with the vise.Failure to do so can cause the tool to be dam-aged and/or the workpiece to be destroyed.PERSONAL INJURY MAY ALSO RESULT. Also,after a cutting operation, DO NOT raise theblade until the blade has come to a completestop.CAUTION:• When cutting long workpieces, use supportsthat are as high as the top surface level of theturn base. Do not rely solely on the vertical viseand/or horizontal vise to secure the workpiece.Thin material tends to sag. Support workpieceover its entire length to avoid blade pinch andpossible KICKBACK.► Fig.38: 1. Support 2. Turn baseVertical vise► Fig.39: 1. Vise arm 2. Vise rod 3. Guide fence4. Holder 5. Holder assembly 6. Vise knob7. ScrewThe vertical vise can be installed in two positions oneither the left or right side of the guide fence or theholder assembly. Insert the vise rod into the hole inthe guide fence or the holder assembly and tighten thescrew to secure the vise rod. |
