The screws should be installed sothat the screw heads are below the surface ofthe wood facing.• When the wood facing is attached, do not turnthe turn base with the handle lowered. Theblade and/or the wood facing will be damaged.Cutting repetitive lengthsCAUTION: For the tool equipped with the hold-ers and the holder assemblies as standard acces-sories, this type of use is not permitted due to thecountry regulations.► Fig.49: 1. Set plate 2. Holder 3. ScrewWhen cutting several pieces of stock to the samelength, ranging from 220 mm to 385 mm, use of the setplate (optional accessory) will facilitate more efficientoperation. Install the set plate on the holder (optionalaccessory) as shown in the figure.Align the cutting line on your workpiece with either theleft or right side of the groove in the kerf board, andwhile holding the workpiece from moving, move theset plate flush against the end of the workpiece. Thensecure the set plate with the screw. When the set plateis not used, loosen the screw and turn the set plate outof the way.NOTE:• Use of the holder-rod assembly (optional acces-sory) allows cutting repetitive lengths up to2,200 mm approximately.Groove cutting► Fig.50: 1. Cut grooves with bladeA dado type cut can be made by proceeding as follows:Adjust the lower limit position of the blade using theadjusting screw and the stopper arm to limit the cuttingdepth of the blade. Refer to “Stopper arm” sectiondescribed on previously. After adjusting the lower limit position of the blade, cutparallel grooves across the width of the workpiece usinga slide (push) cut as shown in the figure. Then removethe workpiece material between the grooves with achisel. Do not attempt to perform this type of cut usingwide (thick) blades or with a dado blade. Possible lossof control and injury may result.CAUTION:• Be sure to return the stopper arm to the originalposition when performing other than groovecutting.Carrying tool► Fig.51: 1. Stopper pin► Fig.52Make sure that the tool is unplugged. Secure the bladeat 0° bevel angle and the turn base at the full right miterangle position. Secure the slide poles so that the lowerslide pole is locked in the position of the carriage fullypulled to operator and the upper poles are locked in theposition of the carriage fully pushed forward to the guidefence. Lower the handle fully and lock it in the loweredposition by pushing in the stopper pin.Carry the tool by holding both sides of the tool baseas shown in the figure. If you remove the holders, dustbag, etc., you can carry the tool more easily.CAUTION:• Always secure all moving portions before carry-ing the tool.• Stopper pin is for carrying and storage purposesonly and not for any cutting operations.MAINTENANCECAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before attempting to perform inspec-tion or maintenance.• Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcoholor the like. Discoloration, deformation or cracksmay result.WARNING:• Always be sure that the blade is sharp and cleanfor the best and safest performance.Adjusting the cutting angleThis tool is carefully adjusted and aligned at the factory, but rough handling may have affected the alignment. Ifyour tool is not aligned properly, perform the following:Miter anglePush the carriage toward the guide fence and tightentwo clamp screws to secure the carriage.Loosen the grip which secures the turn base. Turn theturn base so that the pointer points to 0° on the miterscale. Then turn the turn base slightly clockwise andcounterclockwise to seat the turn base in the 0° miternotch. (Leave as it is if the pointer does not point to 0°.)► Fig.53: 1. Guide fence 2. Hex socket boltLoosen the hex socket bolts securing the guide fenceusing the hex wrench.Lower the handle fully and lock it in the lowered positionby pushing in the stopper pin. Square the side of theblade with the face of the guide fence using a triangularrule, try-square, etc. Then securely tighten the hexsocket bolt on the guide fence in order starting from theright side.► Fig.54: 1.
