22 ENGLISHThere are crown and cove molding joints which aremade to fit “Inside” 90° corners ((1) and (2) in Fig. A)and “Outside” 90° corners ((3) and (4) in Fig. A).MeasuringMeasure the wall length and adjust workpiece on tableto cut wall contact edge to desired length. Always makesure that cut workpiece length at the back of the work-piece is the same as wall length. Adjust cut length forangle of cut. Always use several pieces for test cuts tocheck the saw angles. When cutting crown and cove moldings, set the bevelangle and miter angle as indicated in the table (A) andposition the moldings on the top surface of the sawbase as indicated in the table (B).In the case of left bevel cutMoldingposition inFig. ABevel angle Miter angleFor outsidecornerFor insidecorner52/38° type 45° typeRight 31.6°45° typeLeft 33.9° Left 30°52/38° typeLeft 31.6° Left 35.3°Right 35.3°Right 35.3°Right 31.6°(1)(2)(3)(4)Table (A)Moldingposition inFig. AMolding edge againstguide fence(1) Ceiling contact edge shouldbe against guide fence.Ceiling contact edge shouldbe against guide fence.ForoutsidecornerFinished piecewill be on theLeft side ofblade.Finished piecewill be on theRight side ofblade. For insidecornerWall contact edge should beagainst guide fence.Finished piece(2)(3)(4)Table (B)EXAMPLE In the case of cutting 52/38° type crownmolding for position (1) in Fig. A:• Tilt and secure bevel angle setting to 33.9°LEFT.• Adjust and secure miter angle setting to 31.6°RIGHT.• Lay crown molding with its broad back (hidden)surface down on the turn base with its CEILINGCONTACT EDGE against the guide fence onthe saw.• The finished piece to be used will always beon the LEFT side of the blade after the cut hasbeen made.In the case of right bevel cutMoldingposition inFig. ABevel angle Miter angleFor outsidecornerFor insidecorner52/38° type 45° typeRight 31.6°45° typeRight 33.9° Right 30°52/38° typeLeft 31.6° Left 35.3°Right 35.3°Right 35.3°Right 31.6°(1)(2)(3)(4)Table (A)Moldingposition inFig. AMolding edge againstguide fence(1)ForoutsidecornerFor insidecornerFinished piece(2)(3)(4)Table (B)Finished piecewill be on theLeft side ofblade.Finished piecewill be on theRight side ofblade.Wall contact edge should beagainst guide fence.Wall contact edge should beagainst guide fence.Ceiling contact edge shouldbe against guide fence.EXAMPLE In the case of cutting 52/38° type crownmolding for position (1) in Fig. A:• Tilt and secure bevel angle setting to 33.9°RIGHT.• Adjust and secure miter angle setting to 31.6°RIGHT.• Lay crown molding with its broad back (hidden)surface down on the turn base with its WALLCONTACT EDGE against the guide fence onthe saw.• The finished piece to be used will always be onthe RIGHT side of the blade after the cut hasbeen made.Cutting aluminum extrusion► Fig.48: 1. Spacer blockWhen securing aluminum extrusions, use spacer blocksor pieces of scrap as shown in the figure to preventdeformation of the aluminum. Use a cutting lubricantwhen cutting the aluminum extrusion to prevent build-upof the aluminum material on the blade.CAUTION:• Never attempt to cut thick or round aluminumextrusions. Thick aluminum extrusions maycome loose during operation and round alumi-num extrusions cannot be secured firmly withthis tool.Wood facingUse of wood facing helps to assure splinter-free cutsin workpieces. Attach a wood facing to the guide fenceusing the holes in the guide fence.See the figure concerning the dimensions for a sug-gested wood facing.1 135mm(1-3/8")100mm 70mm92mm 85mm(3-3/8")(2-3/4")(3-15/16")(3-5/8")27mm (1-1/16")(2"-2-3/8")50mm-60mmOver 420mm (16-1/2")Over 15mm (5/8")1.
