4 ENGLISHCordless drill safety warnings1. Use auxiliary handle(s), if supplied with thetool. Loss of control can cause personal injury.2. Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces,when performing an operation where the cut-ting accessory may contact hidden wiring.Cutting accessory contacting a "live" wire maymake exposed metal parts of the power tool "live"and could give the operator an electric shock.3. Always be sure you have a firm footing. Besure no one is below when using the tool inhigh locations.4. Hold the tool firmly.5. Keep hands away from rotating parts.6. Do not leave the tool running. Operate the toolonly when hand-held.7. Do not touch the drill bit or the workpieceimmediately after operation; they may beextremely hot and could burn your skin.8. Some material contains chemicals which maybe toxic. Take caution to prevent dust inhala-tion and skin contact. Follow material suppliersafety data.9. If the drill bit cannot be loosened even youopen the jaws, use pliers to pull it out. Before using battery cartridge, read all instruc-tions and cautionary markings on (1) battery char-ger, (2) battery, and (3) product using battery.2. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them outwith clear water and seek medical attention rightaway. It may result in loss of your eyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with any con-ductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-tainer with other metal objects such asnails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain.A battery short can cause a large currentflow, overheating, possible burns and even abreakdown.6. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge inlocations where the temperature may reach orexceed 50 °C (122 °F).7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even ifit is severely damaged or is completely wornout. The battery cartridge can explode in a fire.8. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.9. Do not use a damaged battery.10. The contained lithium-ion batteries are subject tothe Dangerous Goods Legislation requirements.For commercial transports e.g. by third parties,forwarding agents, special requirement on pack-aging and labeling must be observed.For preparation of the item being shipped, consult-ing an expert for hazardous material is required.Please also observe possibly more detailednational regulations.Tape or mask off open contacts and pack up thebattery in such a manner that it cannot movearound in the packaging.11. Follow your local regulations relating to dis-posal of battery.12. Use the batteries only with the productsspecified by Makita. Installing the batteries tonon-compliant products may result in a fire, exces-sive heat, explosion, or leak of electrolyte.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.CAUTION: Only use genuine Makita batteries.Use of non-genuine Makita batteries, or batteries thathave been altered, may result in the battery burstingcausing fires, personal injury and damage. It willalso void the Makita warranty for the Makita tool andcharger.Tips for maintaining maximumbattery life1. Charge the battery cartridge before completelydischarged. Always stop tool operation andcharge the battery cartridge when you noticeless tool power.2. Never recharge a fully charged battery car-tridge. Overcharging shortens the batteryservice life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with room tempera-ture at 10 °C - 40 °C (50 °F - 104 °F). Let a hotbattery cartridge cool down before charging it.4. Charge the battery cartridge if you do not useit for a long period (more than six months). |
