6 ENGLISHOverheat protectionWhen the tool/battery is overheated, the tool stopsautomatically. In this situation, let the tool/battery coolbefore turning the tool on again.Overdischarge protectionWhen the battery capacity is not enough, the tool stopsautomatically. In this case, remove the battery from thetool and charge the battery.Main power switchWARNING: Always turn off the main powerswitch when not in use.To stand by the tool, press the main power button until the mainpower lamp lights up. To turn off, press the main power button again.1► 1. Main power buttonNOTE: This tool employs the auto power-off function. Toavoid unintentional start up, the main power switch will auto-matically shut down when the switch trigger is not pulled fora certain period after the main power switch is turned on.Switch actionCAUTION: Before installing the battery car-tridge into the tool, always check to see that theswitch trigger actuates properly and returns tothe "OFF" position when released.1► 1. Switch triggerTo start the tool, pull the switch trigger with the main powerswitch on. Tool speed is increased by increasing pressureon the switch trigger. Release the switch trigger to stop.NOTE: The tool automatically stops if you keep pull-ing the switch trigger for about 6 minutes.Electric brakeThis tool is equipped with an electric brake. If the toolconsistently fails to quickly stop after the switch triggeris released, have the tool serviced at a Makita servicecenter.Lighting up the front lampCAUTION: Do not look in the light or see thesource of light directly.1► 1. LampPull the switch trigger to light up the lamp. The lampkeeps on lighting while the switch trigger is being pulled.The lamp goes out approximately 10 seconds afterreleasing the switch trigger.NOTE: When the tool is overheated, the tool stopsautomatically and the lamp starts flashing. In thiscase, release the switch trigger. The lamp turns off in5 minute.NOTE: Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens ofthe lamp.
