Maintenance Section 442 Part Number 000007345 2/14Cleaning the Condenser FilterThe washable filter on self-contained ice machines isdesigned to catch dust, dirt, lint and grease. Clean thefilter with a mild soap and water.Cleaning the CondenserGENERALA dirty condenser restricts airflow, resulting inexcessively high operating temperatures. This reducesice production and shortens component life.• Clean the condenser at least every six months.• Shine a flashlight through the condenser to check fordirt between the fins.• Blow compressed air or rinse with water from theinside out (opposite direction of airflow).• If dirt still remains call a service agent to clean thecondenser.Removal from Service/Winterization1. Clean and sanitize the ice machine.2. Press the power button and turn off the ice machine.3. Turn off the water supply, disconnect and drain theincoming ice-making water line at the rear of the icemachine and drain the water trough.4. Energize the ice machine, wait one minute for thewater inlet valve to open and blow compressed air inboth the incoming water and the drain openings inthe rear of the ice machine to remove all water.5. Press the power button and turn off the ice machine.Disconnect the electric power at the circuit breakeror the electric service switch.6. Fill spray bottle with sanitizer/water solution andspray all interior food zone surfaces. Do not rinseand allow to air dry.7. Replace all panels.WATER-COOLED ICE MACHINES1. Perform steps 1-6 under “Self-Contained Air-CooledIce Machines.”2. Disconnect the incoming water and drain line fromthe water-cooled condenser.3. Energize the ice machine in the freeze cycle. Theincreasing refrigerant pressure will open the waterregulating valve.4. Blow compressed air through the condenser until nowater remains.5. Replace all panels.! WarningDisconnect electric power to the ice machine headsection and the remote condensing unit at theelectric service switches before cleaning thecondenser.! WarningThe condenser fins are sharp. Use care whencleaning them.
