Section 3: Features114 Section 3: Features DS1000/2000 Product Description Active Dial Pad (Continuous Dialing)Active Dial Pad continuously enables the telephone dial pad. This is important if co-workerstypically use dial-up services (such as automated banking) or frequently dial into Voice Mailsystems. With Active Dial Pad disabled, the system disables the telephone dial pad 6 secondsafter the user has dialed their last digit. Toll Restriction controls Active Dial Pad for bothincoming and outgoing calls. N11 DialingN11 Dialing enables or disables an extension’s ability to use N11 services such as directoryassistance (411) and repair (611). Consider enabling this option if the connected telco chargesby the call (i.e., meters) for these services. Note that the system never restricts a user fromdialing 911 or 1 + 911. 0 + Dialing0 + Dialing enables or disables an extension’s ability to manually dial 0 + (operator assisted)calls. These calls typically include collect calls and credit card calls. Be sure to disable thisoption if you don’t want co-workers making these types of calls. The setting of 0 + Dialingdoes not affect the operation of International Dialing (see the option immediately following). International (011) DialingUse the International Dialing option to restrict extension access to high-cost International(011) Dialing. You can, for example, enable International Dialing for high priority users andexecutives while disabling International Dialing for all other co-workers. Equal Access (1010 + XXX) DialingEqual Access allows users to select long distance carriers other than your primary carrier. Yourprimary carrier is the long distance provider you access when you seize a trunk and dial 1. Toreach another provider, dial 1010 and that provider’s three-digit code (e.g., 1010220). Thesystem does not restrict the numbers dialed after the Equal Access Code, but can prevent usersfrom dialing specific Equal Access Codes. 1 + DialingThis type of Toll Restriction can restrict:- 1 + 3-digit (1 + NPA and 1 + NXX) dialing.- 1 + 6-digit (1 + NPA + NXX) dialing. Dialing without a Leading 1This type of Toll Restriction can restrict:- 3-digit (NPA and NXX) dialing.- 6-digit (NPA + NXX) dialing.Feature Quick StepsToll Restriction operation is automatic.TransferAvailability: All versions.Transfer permits an extension user to send (i.e., extend) an activetrunk call to any other extension in the system, a Ring Group,UCD Hunting Group or Voice Mail. With Transfer, any extensionuser can quickly send a call to the desired co-worker. A call a usertransfers automatically recalls if not picked up at the destination extension. If still unanswered, thecall diverts to Key Ring. This assures that users do not lose or inadvertently abandon their transfers.Send the trunk call you areon to a co-worker.
