Setting Up the System 2-5Rack Hardware! CAUTIONEnsure that the location of the rack-mount server does notcreate an unstable condition when installed in the rackcabinet. Before you begin select an appropriate location in your rack cabinet for therack-mount server. To improve rack stability, mount heavier items towards thebottom of the rack cabinet. If the rack is a stand-alone unit and the rack is morethan 75% filled with components, consider installing an optional stabilizer kit.Note: When planning your system configuration for therack cabinet you should consider the length of the cablesthat interconnect system components. The rack mounting components that shipped with your server are shown inFigure 2-1. Your server is mounted on a set of slide rail assemblies that allow itto move freely in and out of the system rack. The triple-hinged cable retentionarm assembly attaches to the rear of the server and to the rack frame and allowscables to swing in and out of the way as the server slides back and forth withinthe rack cabinet. All the server cables can be tie-wrapped to the cable retentionarm.A B CD Ea b c d eA. Cable Retention Arm AssemblyB. Slide Rail Assembly (left)C. Slide Rail Assembly (right)D. Cable Arm BracketE.
