Installing the Operating System with Express Setup 5-63About the System Partition SizeThe system partition size can be calculated from the following formula.Required partition size= Size necessary to install the system + Paging File Size + Dump File Size + Application SizeSize necessary to install the system = 3500MB (Windows Server 2003 R2)= 3500MB (Windows Server 2003 R2 with ServicePack 2)= 5300MB (Windows Server 2003 R2 + Service Pack2 CD-ROM)Paging File Size (Recommended) = Mounted Memory Size * 1.5Dump File Size = Mounted Memory Size + 12MBApplication Size = Required SizeIMPORTANT: The above-mentioned paging file size is recommended forcollecting debug information (memory dump). The paging file withinitial size large enough to store the dump file in the boot drive isrequired.Correct debug information might not be able to be collected due tovirtual memory shortage when the paging file is insufficient, so setan enough size of the paging file with the entire system. The maximum paging file size which can be set on one partition is4095MB. If the above paging file size exceeds 4095MB, specify4095MB for the paging file size. The maximum dump file size for the system with more than 2GBmemory mounted is '2048MB + 12MB'. If you install any application program or the like, add necessaryspace to the partition to install these programs. For example, if the mounted memory size is 1GB (1,024MB), the partition size will be calculated bythe above formula as follows:3,500MB + (1,024MB * 1.5) + (1,024MB + 12MB) + Application Size= 6,072MB + Application Size
