Installing Internal Optional DevicesExpress5800/R120g-2E User's Guide88Chapter 2 Preparations1.15 PCI CardThis server provides five PCI slots that can contain PCI card.Important You must avoid static electricity to work with the procedure below. Fordetails, see Chapter 2 (1.2 Anti-static Measures).1.15.1 NotesRead the following notes when installing or removing a PCI card.• Do not touch the terminals and the leads of electronic components with your bare hand. Fingerprints anddust left on them cause the server to malfunction due to a connection failure or damage to the leads.• The type of the connectable PCI card depends on the location of the PCI slot. Check the card typebefore connecting it to the PCI slot.• The server provides no connector to connect an LED connector of RAID controller.• Assigned PCI slot numbers are #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 from left to right when viewed from the rear . If onlyone processor is installed, PCI slot #1 is unavailable.• The search order for PCI bus slot on boot is as follows.PCI#3 → PCI#2 → PCI#4 → PCI#5 → PCI#1• Bus number, device number and function number of PCI devices are as follows:PCI device Bus number Device number Function numberSlot 1 82h 0 XSlot 2 20h 0 XSlot 3 01h 0 XSlot 4 40h 0 XSlot 5 68h 0 X• If an additional LAN card is installed, it is hard to push the catch of the connector with your finger that isconnected to the LAN card. Disconnect the connector pushing the catch with a standard screwdriver. Atthis time, be very careful for the screwdriver not to damage the LAN card or any other card.• If a bootable device such as a PCI card or USB device is added, the boot order is changed. In BIOS Setup Utility, select HDD Priorities from Boot menu and confirm the boot order. If an HDD under an optional RAID controller is connected, the boot device is (Bus xx Dev 00) PCIRAID Adapter. Note that the value for xx changes depending on the PCI slot where the RAID controlleris installed.• Enable the option ROM scan of BIOS settings when starting the OS on a RAID controller, LAN card(network booting), or Fibre Channel controller. See Chapter 2 (1. System BIOS) in "Maintenance Guide"for how to specify it.
