PC card slots.For more information on the above features, see “Components” in this section.Security FeaturesThe system has hardware, software, and mechanical security features that offerprotection against unauthorized access to the system and data. The followingsecurity features are available:! Password SecurityThe BIOS Setup utility includes a feature that allows a user to set a useror supervisor password, or both.The user password controls booting of the system and controls access tothe Setup utility and the keyboard. User access to the BIOS Setup utilityis limited when a supervisor password is set. The supervisor passwordallows full access to the system and the BIOS.! Windows Network Security FeaturesThe Windows Network Security feature is available through theWindows operating system. See the Windows documentation for details.! Security Lock SlotThe security lock slot accepts a Kensington Security Standard connectoror other locking device to physically protect the system unit fromintrusion.! Hard Drive SecurityThe system supports password protection for the hard drive. Hard drivepassword protection restricts access to the drive if the drive is removedand installed in another system. The system does not prompt for harddrive passwords while the drive remains in the current system.The passwords are written to the system BIOS and to the hard drive toensure that the password protection travels with the drive in the event it ismoved to another system.
